The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting involving an 8-year-old girl.
She's recovering tonight at her Belle Glade apartment. The shooting happened three blocks away on Southwest D Road.
Investigators say the child was inside a Chevrolet SUV when she was grazed by a bullet. The flying bullets came from a Range Rover targeting two people on the 400 Block of Southwest D Road.
Neighbor Breanna Blake says her brother heard the sounds from three blocks away, "He heard multiple gunshots," said Blake. "We ran out. We seen the police. How close he heard the gunshots, we thought the gunshots were actually here."
For almost four hours, neighbors watched as investigators closed off streets searching for who shot the little girl.
"When I seen them I got scared because my kids were right out here playing and stuff," said neighbor Keria Smith.
The little girl's grandma says the good news is her granddaughter is doing well.
