There was a series of armed robberies of motels in Indian River County and Port St. Lucie within hours of each other overnight Thursday.
Around midnight two men, one armed, robbed the Holiday Inn Express in the 9400 block of 19th Lane near Interstate 95 west of Vero Beach. They demanded access to a safe, said sheriff's Deputy Jeff Luther.
Then at 12:26 a.m. Friday, two armed men robbed the Holiday Inn Express along I-95 in the 1600 block of Northwest Courtyard Circle, said Port St. Lucie Police spokesman Sgt. Frank Sabol, They took cash from the register and robbed three customers.
The assailants left in a small silver vehicle.
Investigators presume the same two men robbed a gas station in Jupiter about two hours later, officials said.
Descriptions of the suspects:
Suspect 1: White male wearing blue long sleeve shirt with a white shirt wrapped around his head and black pants. The suspect is approximately 5'6" – 5'10" tall weighing 150-180 pounds.
Suspect 2: White male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a black vest, blue jean shorts, and red sneakers with white laces. The suspect is approximately 5'6" – 5'10" tall weighing 150-180 pounds.
