Woman on Carnival Fascination rescued at sea by Coast Guard helicopter off of St Lucie County
ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fl. - A woman is in stable condition at Broward General Hospital after being medically evacuated from the Carnival Cruise Ship Fascination Sunday evening.
The Coast Guard Sector Miami says that it was alerted by the ship's captain that a woman was showing symptoms of cardiac arrest approximately 38 nautical miles east of St. Lucie County.
The Coast Guard said it decided to to medevac the patient, so it launched a rescue helicopter from Miami.
The crew was able to safely hoist the woman and take her to Ft. Lauderdale for treatment.
The woman was reported to be in stable condition at the time of the transfer according to Coast Guard officials.
