Suspect in Dayana Gil hit & run arrested for tampering with evidence

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - The suspect in the deadly hit & run that killed high school student Dayanna Gil in April was re-arrested in Port St. Lucie Monday night.

According to the St Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, Ivette Nieves-Caceres as was arrested on a warrant for tampering with evidence and was released on $5000.00 bail.

Nieves-Cacares was arrested in connection with the crash under the name of Ivette Nieves-Barsuglia and has denied any involvement in the death of Dayanna Gil.
