PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - The anniversary of the September 11th attacks is quickly approaching.
Today many took time out to remember the first responders who died on that day.
Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie was the scene of the 12th annual 9/11 "Blue Mass".
"We want to let people know that first responders are very important to the community, but we also want to let people know that their support and help through these tragedies and during these events are very important," said Tony Valicenti, a retired New York City police officer.
Many people who live and work on the Treasure Coast today were among those who responded to the Twin Towers on 9/11.
