Port St Lucie police trying to identify theft suspects

A search is underway by the Port St Lucie police for the suspects who stole a truck and trailer from a self storage facility last Sunday.

Police say that around 2:00 p-m, surveillance video from Security Self Storage at 501 NW Business Center Drive captured the theft of a trailer, an F450 truck, and nearly $20,000 in lawn maintenance equipment.

Officers from Port St Lucie say that both the truck and trailer were marked with Northpointe Landscape Maintenance and Design on the sides.

Investigators say that the suspects broke into a small trailer and took the lawn equipment from inside the trailer.  The lawn equipment was then placed into another larger trailer that was parked in the same parking lot.  

Investigators say the suspects took the stolen truck and trailer to the  I-95 and Crosstown Parkway overpass where they abandoned the trailer.  

Officers say that the stolen truck was taken to the Superplay parking lot, 1600 NW Courtyard Circle, where they abandoned it. 

The suspects used another truck to pick up the abandoned stolen trailer with the lawn equipment.  The trailer and lawn equipment have not yet been recovered.
