Port St. Lucie Police solve text mystery

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Port St. Lucie police, asked to investigate a suspicious text message sent to the city's vice mayor, discover it came from a recently fired city employee.

The text was sent from Gabrielle Taylor, who was let go this month as assistant city attorney.

The text was sent to Linda Bartz and said, "Ur the first that will have karma u lying horrible person. U kissed me on the cheek like a mafiosi. Your friends will b the first to betray u. I will never be mean to you, but u do not Realize that ur words to me will be repeated... On tape."

Taylor was at the center of a recent city controversy when she was pulled over for suspicion of drunk driving, but was not cited or arrested, and given a ride home by police.

Taylor's firing came one day before city manager Jerry Bentrott was also let go in part for his handling of the situation.

As to the text sent to the vice mayor last Friday, Taylor faces no criminal charges.
