Port St. Lucie Police say three men have been arrested for 'pillowcase' burglaries

PORT ST. LUCIE,Fla - Port St Lucie police say that three men arrested Monday are linked to a rash of "pillowcase" burglaries that have taken place throughout the community over the past year.

Investigators say Monday around 12:30 p-m  that they received an alarm that there was a break-in at a home in the 2900 block of SW Coastal Terrace.

Police arrived to find a front glass door window smashed in and electronics and other items taken from the house.

Just before 1 p-m police received another call about a burglary in the 2500 block of SE Floresta Drive.

The homeowner was sleeping, according to police, and the suspects who were in the bedroom fled when he woke up.

Police say they were able to locate the suspect's car near the 2500 block of SW Bayshore Drive.

Stolen property was found in the car, according to officers.

Police arrested Edwin Louissant, Deandre Newsome and Richard Laguerre on burglary charges.

Police say that the Silver Acura the trio was driving Monday is possibly the same car that was seen on surveillance video during a burglary on January 16, 2014.
