PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla, - Port St. Lucie police are currently investigating a string of burglaries that involve the ramming of garage doors by a vehicle.
Officers say that they were called to the 300 block of SE Whitmore Drive to investigate a burglary to a vacant home. Investigators say that the garage door was rammed by a vehicle to gain entry into the house.
A clothes dryer and an edger were taken from the home, according to police.
Officers found blue paint on the damaged garage door. They say that might be the color of the vehicle that struck the garage.
Police also went to two additional locations, 600 SE Crescent Avenue and 400 SE Whitmore Drive, and found garage doors at those locations had also been rammed by a vehicle.
The two additional homes are also vacant and are up for sale, according to police. However, nothing was taken from those homes.
Police are asking that if anyone has any information regarding these burglaries to call the Port St. Lucie Police Department at 772-871-5001 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-TIPS.
