Passages Addiction Rehab Center van set on fire in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST LUCIE, Fla. - An investigation is underway by the Port St. Lucie Police Department to determine who tried to set fire to a van owned by Passages Addiction Rehab Center.

Police said around 5:15 a.m. Monday they received a call about an arson to a 1999 Chevrolet van, which was parked at a staff worker's home in the 600 block of NW Kildare St.

A neighbor told investigators that a dark sedan with its lights on was parked down the street.

Just after the car left, the neighbor told police that he noticed a fire coming from the van.

Police said  they found a partially burnt cloth hanging from the gas tank of the 1999 Chevrolet van.

Officers also found a partially burnt Molotov cocktail lying on the windshield of the van.

The caretaker of the rehab center told police that they have not had any problems with people who have stayed at the facility.
