Nia Huddleston & Petair Meristil: Pair arrested for making marijuana muffins, police say

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Port St. Lucie police arrested a man and a woman on charges of possession of a controlled substance after they discovered marijuana muffins and batter inside of the couple's apartment.

Police say on August 8th, they acted on a Crime Stoppers' tip about drug activity at an apartment located on S.E. Green Acres Circle.

Officers say when a woman, later identified as Nia Huddleston, left the residence detectives smelled a strong odor of marijuana.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and once inside say that they discovered 11 marijuana smoking devices, a grinder with drug residue, a digital scale, 1 pot plant with root system, 12 cooked marijuana muffins, another 12 uncooked marijuana muffins and more marijuana batter in a Tupperware bowl.

 

While detectives were still on scene, Petair Meristil showed up and was taken into custody along with Huddleston. Both were transported to the St. Lucie County Jail for booking.

Huddleston faces charges of  possession of controlled substance without prescription, possession of marijuana under 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Meristil faces charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana under 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
