PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - UPDATE: The 8 year old 4th grader who was hit by a car Tuesday afternoon in Port St. Lucie, was treated and released from St. Mary's Hospital.
There are no charges pending against the 45 year old female driver who hit her.
An 8-year-old girl was hit by a car in the corner of Bayshore Boulevard and Airview Avenue in Port St. Lucie, according to the Port St. Lucie police spokesman, Sergeant. Sabol.
The girl was dropped off by a school bus at approximately 3:30 pm.
She is a student at Morningside Elementary, according to sergeant Sabol.
Police said the young girl attempted to cross the street and was hit by a a woman driving a 1999 Honda Passport.
The car stopped, the girl sustained head trauma injuries and abrasions. She was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
