Mauricio Huerta arrested for multiple burglaries in Port St. Lucie, police say

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Port St. Lucie police have arrested Mauricio Huerta, 19, in connection to multiple burglaries
in the Port St. Lucie area, according to authorities.

While detectives were investigating a burglary that occurred on 800 block of SW Paul Revere Terrace, they discovered that a stolen Nikon camera from that home was at a local pawn store. 

Authorities contacted the person who pawned the camera and learned that he had obtained it from Mauricio Huerta, police say. Police went to Huerta's home and he told detectives he had burglarized 4 houses.

Police arrested Huerta on Monday. He faces four burglary charges,  three counts of grand theft, dealing in stolen property and giving false information to a pawnbroker.

Huerta told police he was working with at least two other people and he allegedly acted as a lookout.

Police say Huerta helped them recover a stolen gun in a bucket at wooded lot on SW Cadet Circle.

More arrests are possible, police say
