Man beaten with crowbar in Port St. Lucie home invasion; 2 sought in case

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Port St. Lucie detectives have named two suspects in connection with the beating of a man with a crowbar.

The incident happened in the 1400 block of S.E. Grapeland Road around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the victim, Eric Hallman, 49, previously met Hayden Hope, 20, at a gas station where Hope worked.

Investigators said Hope and Aurelia Faith Walker, 18, went over to Hallman’s house under the pretense that they were going to cut Hallman’s lawn. 

Hallman met Hope and Walker at his door and let them in to his house.  Immediately after entering Hallman’s home, police said Hope and Walker attacked Hallman.  

Hallman's thumb was nearly severed in the incident.  Medics transported the man to the hospital for lacerations to the head and a nearly severed thumb.
