Suspects drove away with victim hanging off truck

Port St. Lucie police arrested 31-year-old Kimberly Jean Kleinhenz of Ft. Pierce and 26-year-old Melissa Ann Weaver of Port St. Lucie on multiple charges to include unarmed robbery and grand theft auto on Friday.

Police were called to Neely's Grog House on Bayshore Boulevard for an unarmed robbery.

The two suspects robbed 34-year-old Chelsea Rainbow Steen of Port St. Lucie, grabbing her purse and speeding off in a maroon truck.

Steen jumped onto the exterior of the truck as they sped away.

She later told police that after they drove a distance with her hanging onto the truck, the suspects got out of the vehicle and started to beat her.

Steen sustained injuries from the beating including having a tooth knocked out.

Police located the truck driven by Melissa Weaver.

Kimberly Kleinhenz was in the passenger seat.

Police then learned that the truck was stolen by the pair earlier that night at a bar in Stuart, Florida.

The two stole the keys from a bar patron, then stole the truck which had the victim's wallet containing credit cards and driver's license.

While searching Weaver, police discovered the truck owner's debit card in her pants pocket.

Upon searching the truck, police located Steen's stolen purse and a purse belonging to Kleinhenz.

Inside her purse police found four syringes along with ground pills mixed with several other pills identified as morphine and Alprazolam.

Both suspects were arrested and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.
