Jeffrey Jordan faces charges on suspicion of choking his girlfriend, police say

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - A  Port St. Lucie man faces domestic battery charges after choking his girlfriend and ramming his car into her garage door, according to a  Port St. Lucie police.

On Thursday, July 4, just after midnight, police responded to 2249 SW Matheson Terrace after receiving domestic violence reports.

Jeffery B Jordan, 56  faces domestic battery by strangulation and criminal mischief charges stemming from an argument with his girlfriend, according to police.

The alleged victim told police that there was an argument in the car on their way to her house. Once they arrived Jordan grabbed the victim and threw her to the ground and began choking her until she kicked him in the groin, according to the victim's version of events to police.

Jordan retrieved some items from inside the house then got into his Jeep and drove it into the victim's garage door, according to police.

Jordan then fled the scene but was later picked up by police at his home.  Jordan told police that he thought he put the car in reverse, but the car was in drive instead. 

Jordan was arrested and transported to the St. Lucie County Jail.
