Ingrid Hector, Port St. Lucie mom, arrested after young children home alone called 911, police said

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- A Port St. Lucie mom was arrested on child neglect charges last week after police said she left her three young children home alone and they called 911.

After responding to a 911 hang up call from a home in the 2800 block of SW West Louise Circle on March 21, officers said they found Ingrid Hector's three children, ages 5, 3 and 2 years old, home alone.

The children initially told police that their father was in the shower. Police attempted to locate an adult in the home, but after an extensive search it was determined the three children were alone.

Officers contacted Hector, 29, by checking the recent calls from a house phone and finding her number. When they called her, she responded by asking "What happened?" according to a police report.

Hector told officers that her brother was supposed to be watching the children. However, after an investigation, police said they learned that Hector's brother left prior to her leaving the children home alone.

Ingrid was then arrested for three counts of child neglect and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.
