Port St. Lucie, Fla. -- Hundreds of Port St. Lucie residents celebrated the 4th of July Friday at the Freedom Fest at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center.
The annual celebration is the site for live music, lots of food, bounce houses for kids, and a family friendly environment.
Several brief rainstorms rolled through Friday, but had little effect on the enthusiasm and patriotism during the day.
One family says they've made it an annual tradition to celebrate the holiday at the Freedom Fest, bringing along their youngest this year.
"You know, just the importance of family, spending time together. We want to make sure we make great memories with our kids," said Michele Anderson.
Fireworks are scheduled to be set off around 9 p.m.
