PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - A Treasure Coast high school teacher has been arrested on sex charges. The teacher at St. Lucie West Centennial High School told Port St. Lucie police that he has been conversing with two of his female students via text and cell phone.

Authorities said that Deron James Bauer, 34, and those students had exchanged nude photos and sexual messages. They said that he also told investigators that he has attended parties with students and even supplied some of the students with beer.

Bauer is currently being held at the St. Lucie County Jail.

According to police documents, Bauer is accused of sending hundreds of text messages and photographs to two female students. Many of those exchanges, investigators said, were sexual in nature.

Bauer is charged with two counts of promoting sexual performance by a child, two counts of obscene communication using a computer to solicit a child and two counts of transmitting harmful information to minors.
