PORT SAINT LUCIE, Fla. - A Saint Lucie County blood bank is taking donations again after shutting down for several weeks.
Staff at One Blood Inc. in Port Saint Lucie decided it's now safe to take donations after they stopped due to the dengue fever outbreak.
The Martin County Health Department reports there are now 20 confirmed cases of dengue fever, all of which were contracted in Rio or Jensen Beach.
The Martin County blood banks have put a halt on donations as well and won't likely start again until the number of cases stops climbing.
