PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Police are searching for a man suspected of running a prostitution ring out of his residence at the Sanctuary Apartments in Port St. Lucie.
According to a news release from the Port St. Lucie Police Department, officers received an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip on May 6th that David Hercott Leslie was conducting a prostitution business from his home in the 5400 block of 5440 N.E. Moorhen Trail.
When detectives arrived at the apartment, they met with Leslie, his girlfriend and her two children. As detectives were questioning the couple, they could hear two people talking in the back bedroom of the apartment.
During the questioning, a male and a female exited the back bedroom. Detectives questioned the man who said he had responded to a backpage.com ad for a female escort at this residence.
The man told detectives that he could not reach an agreement on the price for sex with the female so he was leaving. The woman involved in the ad told detectives that Leslie would help set up the pricing, posting of the ad and sometimes provide rides to client's residences. She told detectives she would split the profits in half with Leslie.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Leslie on a charge of Deriving Support from Proceeds of Prostitution. His whereabouts are currently unknown. Leslie is described as a black male, 30 years old, 6’2” tall, weighing 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
