A two-vehicle crash at SW Bayshore Boulevard and SW Thornhill Drive in Port St. Lucie will have traffic signals at that intersection shut down for most of today.
Investigators say at around 7:20 a.m. the traffic light was green for northbound and southbound traffic on SW Bayshore Boulevard. A 1999 White Ford F450 truck pulling a trailer was traveling South on SW Bayshore Boulevard and going through the intersection of SW Thornhill Drive.
At the same time a 1997 Burgundy Nissan Maxima was traveling North on SW Bayshore Boulevard and attempted to make a left turn to head West on SW Thornhill Drive.
As the Nissan turned, the two vehicles collided causing the Nissan to end up in the median and the Ford F450 to crash into the traffic signal control box that was located at the Southwest corner of the intersection.
No injuries were reported, and the traffic signal has been repaired and is functioning normally.
