PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - A quick trip to the Walgreens pharmacy Tuesday morning has landed a Port St Lucie man in jail.
Police say that around 2:40 a-m Christopher Embree went to the Walgreens at 1661 NW St Lucie West Blvd. and handed the pharmacist a hand written note asking for prescription drugs.
Embree, according to police, told the pharmacist that he wasn't armed but he would harm him if he didn't comply or if he set off an alarm.
Investigators say that Embree was given 60 oxycontin pills and a pack of syringes.
Police say they were notified by Walgreens that the store had been robbed.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff's office was able to locate Embree's car around 6:40am and he was arrested.
Embree is facing various charges including robbery without a weapon, grand theft, possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Embree is currently being held in the St. Lucie County Jail.
