PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - A small brush fire has been contained in Port St. Lucie.
The fire began around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Bluebonnet and Windy Pines in the Windy Pines Subdivision.
St Lucie County fire crews contained the fire within 15 minutes, and confirm no homes were damaged.
Olivia Hernandez said she didn't know her backyard was on fire until a neighbor knocked on her door and told her.
"The neighbor knocked our door and said, 'Olivia, your backyard is on fire!' so is when I see the fire," Hernandez said.
She believes a lightning strike started the fire because she and her husband heard a loud boom and she said it sounded like a bomb.
