PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Police in Port St. Lucie said a reported abduction of a woman Sunday night was an exaggeration.
The investigation revealed that a car merely pulled up to the woman. One of the occupants of the car opened the door.
Detectives said the woman "fabricated the story because she did not think the police would respond if a car just pulled up next to her and opened the door."
Police said the facts of the case are being presented to the State Attorney’s Office. The woman could face charges of filing a false police report.
