PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - A couple suspected in multiple thefts recently in Port St. Lucie is facing more charges after police said they were caught stealing Doritos and ice cream from a Walmart.
Investigators said they were called to the store located on Gatlin Boulevard on Monday.
The suspects, identified as Aisha Tiana Gordon, 18, Franz Alexander Simpson, 18, both of Port St. Lucie, were arrested in connection with the junk food thefts that totaled $15.96
Computer theft on May 7
Officers then recognized the duo from another case involving the theft of a HP Envy computer on May 7 at the Walmart located at 1675 NW St. Lucie West Blvd.
Police said surveillance photos in that case showed Gordon and Franz putting the computer in a shopping cart and then leaving the store without paying for it.
Clothing store theft on May 9
While looking into other cases, police said Gordon and Franz also stole $72.37 worth of clothing at a Bealls Department Store on St. Lucie West Boulevard.
In that case, police were called to Bealls on May 9 at around 3:55 p.m. after the suspects were spotted taking the clothes by store security.
As police arrived, officers said Franz fled the area on foot. After a short foot chase, police said Franz attempted to pull away from an officer but was eventually arrested.
In this case, Franz was charged with petit theft, resisting officer with violence and obstruction of justice. Gordon was charged with petit theft.
