An arrest has been made in the death of Rachel Robles of Fort Pierce.
Robles' fiancé Mark Terrien has been charged with leaving the scene of traffic accident involving death.
Robles was found in early May on the side of the road near Godwin Road in Fort Pierce.
According to the sheriff's office, Terrien told detectives that Robles jumped out the car while he was driving.
He said he stopped but left when another car passed because he was drunk.
"Mark Anthony Terrien, 33, of 324 Godwin Road, lived with Ms. Robles for 17 years, and the couple had three children," St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara said in a release. "Mr. Terrien called 9-1-1 the morning of May 11, claiming Ms. Robles was missing when he woke up to go to work. He later admitted that this wasn't true."
Just days after Robles died Terrien spoke to NewsChannel 5 and said Robles was bipolar and often took walks at night.
"She was the most beautiful thing in the world. She was my life," he said in the May interview. "She gave me these three beautiful children and now somebody took her away from me."
Sheriff's deputies booked Terrien into the county jail under a $50,000 bond.
