Two men shot in separate incidents in Fort Pierce

FORT. PIERCE - Two men were shot in separate incidents between Friday evening and Saturday afternoon in Fort Pierce, according to Sgt. Dennis McWilliams, spokesman for city police.

Friday evening an 18-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 2200 block of Avenue G, McWilliams said. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to a local trauma center in an unknown condition, McWilliams said.

The second shooting happened Saturday around 5:24 p.m. in the 1100 block of Colonial Avenue. McWilliams said that a 27-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to a nearby trauma center, McWilliams said. His condition is unknown but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

McWilliams said the shootings do not appear to be related.
