Trio arrested at Fort Pierce hotel accused of selling cocaine, marijuana

FORT PIERCE — A sex offender, his girlfriend and the girlfriend's mother were arrested Wednesday following a St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office investigation into drug dealing in the area of the Sunset Inn, according to affidavits released Thursday and a sheriff's official.

Investigators on June 4 got information that several people were peddling illegal drugs in or near the hotel in the 1800 block of South U.S. 1.

The next day, investigators used an informant, who said he could buy marijuana from "Sabrina" from room 31. "Sabrina," later identified as 22-year-old Sabrina Turner, asked the informant to enter a room, where she's accused of giving him two bags of marijuana for $20.

Turner, whose listed address is a hotel room there, also is accused Tuesday of selling $20 in crack cocaine to an informant.

A sheriff's official said Turner is the girlfriend of Michael Dewayne Agnew, identified in records as a 35-year-old sex offender. Agnew also is accused of selling an informant crack cocaine on June 6 and Monday at the Sunset Inn.

Investigators on Wednesday served a search warrant at the hotel room, and found Agnew, whose listed address also is the hotel room, walking from the kitchen area. Sheriff's officials turned up a bag with more than 20 rocks of crack cocaine and a marijuana "blunt" in an ashtray.

Agnew told sheriff's officials the drugs belonged to him and that he'd been selling from the room for several weeks.

A woman identified as Turner's mother, 47-year-old Sheryl Turner, was there. Two glass pipes with cocaine residue were found in a pillow case of her bed.

The elder Turner, whose listed address also is the hotel room, said she smokes crack but discards the pipes, saying she smoked two days earlier.

Agnew and the Turners — all listed as unemployed — each were arrested on drug related charges, including possession of cocaine and sale and delivery of cocaine.
