On the Treasure Coast Tuesday, it was raining green beans and cucumbers!
Thomas Produce Company, a family-owned farm, donated two and a half million pounds of green beans and cucumbers to several agencies that help the needy.
The Treasure Coast Food Bank received about 40,000 pounds today.
That fresh produce will be distributed to nearly 108,000 local residents struggling to put food on the table.
Through the "Farmers Feeding Florida" program, the agriculture community provides wholesome but unmarketable produce to neighbors in need.
