FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office arrested two people following a traffic stop Wednesday at the intersection of South 29th Street and Delaware Avenue.
Deputies say they found an "overwhelming odor of fresh/unburnt marijuana."
Investigators searched the car's occupants and the car itself and said they seized marijuana and cash.
Most of the cash was in $20 bills, consistent with drug sales according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies say that they arrested Rakad Ihab El-jechi, and Jose Luis Soto.
The sheriff's office says both are drug dealers in the Fort Pierce area.
Deputies say that they confiscated 171 grams of marijuana and $1,735 off the street from El-jechi and Soto.
El-jechi is a documented gang member, according to the sheriff's office.
Both El-jechi and Soto were booked into the St. Lucie County Jail.
