FORT PIERCE, Fla. - Two men are in custody and charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting on Wednesday, according to a news release from the Ft. Pierce Police Department.
The incident happened around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of 19th Street and Avenue G. Two victims were transported to a local trauma center with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses told detectives that the suspects fled the scene in a green SUV. A brief time after the shooting, authorities stopped a vehicle matching that description at the intersection of St. James Drive and Hammock Creek Circle.
One of the victims identified the SUV as the suspects' vehicle. The driver of the SUV, Polo Delva, 25, was identified as one of the shooters, along with Delva's passenger, Terrance Simmons, 24, according to police.
Both suspects remain in the St. Lucie County jail and are being held without bond.
