FORT PIERCE — Fort Pierce police on Saturday morning were investigating a robbery at the Oculina Bank on Seaway Drive, though investigators released little information.
The bank, which was robbed about 9:30 a.m., is in the 1100 block of Seaway Drive in a small plaza with a handful of other businesses, including a pharmacy, said Sgt. David Cuti of the Fort Pierce police.
“It’s just extremely early in the investigation to give out any details,” Cuti said, standing at the scene. “We are canvassing the area. We’re just asking for the public’s help if they saw anything.”
Cuti said no one was hurt in the incident, and that the robber or robbers got an undisclosed amount of money.
Cuti said all vehicles on South Ocean and Seaway drives were stopped after the incident on Hutchinson Island and checked.
Cuti declined to say whether a gun was involved in the incident.
Several marked police cruisers sat in the parking lot of the bank and along the road in front of it as investigators came and went from the bank.
Cuti said at least one robber was in the bank, but no suspect description was provided.
No other information was immediately available.
Anyone with information is asked to call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 800-273-TIPS or Detective Jesse Streeter at 772-467-6911.
