A man was arrested Monday at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parade in Fort Pierce, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect, Albert Copeland, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Officials say Copeland fled on foot and broke into a car on the 2700 block of Avenue G. after police tried to detain him.

Members of the Sheriff's Office STAR team and Fort Pierce Police located and arrested him.
