Ft. Pierce teen recovering after being shot while riding his bicycle Monday night

FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The shooting of a 16-year-old teen is under investigation by the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say that around 7:45 p-m Monday, Frantavious Reed of Fort Pierce was riding his bike one mile north of his home when several shots were fired at him.

Reed was found on the ground at the southeast corner of North 35th Street and Avenue I.

Investigators say that Reed was struck by a bullet that passed through his lower abdomen.

The teen is recovering at a local hospital.
