FORT PIERCE, Fla. - A ceremony was held in Ft. Pierce on Wednesday morning to remember a woman who died on 9/11.
Friends and family gathered for Cee Cee Lyles, a flight attendant on board United Flight 93 that crashed in Shanksville, Pa.
A statue in her honor now overlooks the Indian River.
Even though it has been 12 years since the tragedy, Lyles' family said the memories are still fresh.
"We just miss her. We're just glad everybody remembers this day. It's an important day for this nation," said mother Carrie Ross.
Before she was a flight attendant, Lyles was a detective in the Ft. Pierce Police Department.
