FORT PIERCE, Fla. - A small rally took place Sunday night in the form of a candlelight vigil to honor the victims in the recent violence in Fort Pierce.
Local churches, the NAACP, and neighbors in the community gathered for a evening of prayer and healing at Dreamland Park.
Organizers say they will not let the violence tear their city down. They pledged to work together to find solutions for the on-going violence in Fort Pierce.
"We have come together as a community, community leaders, and community churches to join forces to create stop the violence campaigns and outreaches to the troubled teens in the community," said Gregory Blake.
The city of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County officials will host a forum Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Lincoln Park Academy to address the ongoing violence in the city.
