Beam from World Trade Center attacks heading to Navy SEAL Museum

FORT PIERCE, Fla. - A steel beam from the rubble of the World Trade Centers is being delivered to the National Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce.

New York City Firefighters from Engine 9 Ladder 6 began the 1,400 mile bike ride from the World Trade Center Memorial Wednesday and will arrive in Fort Pierce on Saturday, April 5. The group is bringing a 14-foot steel beam with them.

The firefighters will stop at the Pentagon Memorial in Washington, D.C. to pay their respects to those who died on September 11, 2001.

The executive director of the Navy SEAL Museum says they already have a place for the beam. “We have a great place for it near our memorial with the names of Frogmen that have died in the line of duty since WWII.

Unfortunately, many names have been added since 9/11, which makes this artifact very meaningful to our families,” said Rick Kaiser.
