A 19-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in St. Lucie County early Saturday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at 4:15 a.m. on the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 at mile marker 125.5, near Midway Road.
The victim, Carlos Alberto Hernandez of Fort Pierce, was traveling on I-95 when his vehicle, a 2015 KIA Optima, drove onto a grass shoulder and into the median, hitting a tree and overturning.
Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
