16 year old St. Lucie County teen charged with shooting into an occupied house

Deputies: Woman awakens to the sound of gunshots

FORT PIERCE, Fla. - A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged with firing shots into an occupied house.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office says that it received call around 1:40 a-m from a woman who says that she heard shots fired and glass breaking.

Deputies say that the woman found bullet holes in her front door and through her bedroom window at her home in the 3700 block of Avenue K.

Investigators say that the woman told them that she had had problems with a juvenile who lives two blocks away.

Deputies, along with a K-9, were able to track down the teen.

A search of his room, according to deputies, lead to the discovery of a .38 caliber revolver and ammunition.

Deputies say that the spent bullet casings were also found.

The teen was arrested by St. Lucie County deputies and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm under the age of 18, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
