CASTLE memory field remembers children who died of abuse or neglect

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. - 122 children died last year in Florida because of abuse or neglect.

Tuesday, 122 flags were set up as a "memory field" in front of the CASTLE agency in St. Lucie County.

CASTLE provides parent education classes so children can be raised in a healthy and safe environment.

One of the flags is for Angela Joyce's 4-year-old son Anthony, who drowned in a neighbor’s pool.

Joyce says CASTLE has helped her get past the tragedy. "With CASTLE in my life I became a mother and a role model for my children and I thank CASTLE every day," she said.

CASTLE claims a 98% success rate.
