Aaron Beauchamp family files suit in St. Lucie County school bus death

A wrongful death suit has been filed

FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The family of 9 year old Aaron Beauchamp who was killed while riding a St. Lucie County school bus has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in the case.

On March 26 th, Aaron was one of many students riding a St. Lucie County school bus when it crashed into a semi-truck.

A statement from the family's attorney states they're filing a lawsuit against Cypress Truck Inc. and its driver Charles Thomas Cooper.  That's the company and the driver of the semi-truck involved in the crash.

Plus, we have also learned the family has filed a claim with the St. Lucie County School District.  However the district has 90 days to work out that claim with the family and that time hasn't expired yet.  The district isn't commenting on the case.

The family's attorney Matthew Haynes said in a statement, "The Beauchamp family – through their counsel- is trying to resolve their claim against the responsible parties.  Using this process, the family can gather information surrounding Aaron's death and obtain a resolution that both dignifies the full measure of their loss and gives back to the community through the establishment of a charitable organization in Aaron's name to honor his life and memory."
