PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Local Muslims joined hands to fight hunger in the community on Saturday. They created food bags for the needy in Palm beach County.
At the Palm Beach Mosque, more than 100 bags were filled with noodles, bread, cereal, and other essentials.
Once the food was collected, the group went out into the community handing out the bags to their neighbors.
"We are very proud considering this is our first time and the amount of donations we have received and the response from the community, like the people who are coming and going, they're taking our food, its basically building the relationship," Afifa Khaliq said.
The next food bag drive will be in November around Thanksgiving.
