Wendy Rosano charged with not paying almost $200K in sales tax to state of Florida

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - A Boca Raton woman who owned two restaurants in suburban Delray Beach has been arrested and charged with not paying almost $200,000 in sales tax collections to the state.

The Florida Department of Revenue said that Wendy Rosano owned two companies that operated two restaurants at 19950 Jog Rd. in Delray Beach.

State investigators said that the Mio Delray, Inc. did business as Cucina Mio, and Mio on Jog Road operated as Lola Restaurant and Lounge.

According to DPR officials, Rosano collected more than $164,558 for Mio Delray between September 2009 and March 2011 and failed to remit $78,391 in sales tax to the state during that time.

Investigators said that Mio on Jog Road collected $191,465 and failed to remit $104,981 in sales tax to the state during the September 2009 to March 2011 time period.

Rosano was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on theft of sales tax charges and was then released on bond.
