Three Lady Atlantic passengers injured during storm

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Three passengers onboard a sightseeing boat were injured when they were struck by aluminum panels that came loose during Thursday's storm.

According to Delray Beach Fire Rescue, rescue crews responded to Veteran's Park located at 801 East Atlantic Avenue around 3:46 p.m., for a report of three people injured on the Lady Atlantic.

The vessel had left its dock for its regularly scheduled tour but severe weather in the area forced the crew to turn back to the dock.

Three passengers on a covered rear deck were struck by falling light-weight aluminum panels used as ceiling tiles, which may have been dislodged by the heavy winds.

One passenger was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other two passengers were evaluated on scene, according to fire rescue.
