Long lines and long waits at polling places continued in the second day of early voting in Palm Beach County. The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office reported a record turnout for the first day of early voting Monday, nearly 17,000 people.
Leaving the polls, many said they voted early because they were ready to be done with the election.
"I'm 72, I've never seen an election cycle like this before," said Suellyn Bache, a voter from Delray Beach. "The whole atmosphere and climate of this election cycle has been very disturbing."
"It's getting stressful at this point," added Bianca Kincannon, "Especially with social media, everybody's arguing, it's hurting relationships, and I just want it over with at this point."
Some voters said even though the election won't be over for another two weeks, voting early gives them some relief.
"Mainly I'm just tired of the whole thing," said voter Kathy Cameron, "I'm glad it's over and I wish it was a whole shorter period altogether."
Wait times at some polling places in Palm Beach County averaged 30 minutes to an hour Monday and Tuesday.
