DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - The longest dinner table in Florida was set in Delray Beach Thursday night. 1100 people will sit together down the middle of Atlantic Avenue for a good cause.
Savor on the Avenue brought 20 restaurants together to style tables and cook to benefit The Office Depot Foundation.
Stretching five blocks, from Swinton Avenue to 5th Avenue, the four course meal is growing in popularity, as tickets sold out two weeks ago.
Five dollars from every ticket sold will benefit the foundation.
"Everyone will get a backpack on their chair. They're asked to fill it with school supplies and drop it off at Office Depot or the office of the Downtown Development Authority to pass it forward to a child in need," says Marjorie Ferrer, the Executive Director of the Downtown Development Authority.
Atlantic Avenue will be re-opened for traffic around 10 p.m.
