DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Delray Beach Police officers arrested a man involved in a dispute with his ex-girlfriend after police say he took off in the woman's car with two children inside.
Officers responded to reports of a stolen vehicle Sunday night. According to an arrest report, they met with a woman who was visibly shaken and hysterically crying.
She stated to police that her ex-boyfriend, Fredrick Clark had just taken off, stealing her vehicle with her two children inside.
At the same time officers were interviewing the woman, two citizens saw two young girls walking in the middle of the road in the area of S.W. 7th Avenue and S.W. 3rd Street and contacted police.
The girls told officers that Clark had dropped them off in an alley near a park that they are known to go to.
Officers located Clark during a traffic stop and took him into police custody without incident.
According to the arrest report, Clark admitted that the incident was "a bad decision" on his part and he should've just walked away.
Clark will be charged with grand theft auto, aggravated child abuse and false imprisonment of a child.
