Douglas Hughes rearrested on video voyeurism charges while he was awaiting trial, police say

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Douglas Hughes is back in jail on video voyeurism charges. Hughes was arrested last year in Boca Raton.

Investigators said the then off duty Boca Raton Parks and Recreation groundskeeper used his iPhone to videotape inside a Red Reef Park women's bathroom.
In the original charge, police documents say he caught a woman and her 10-year-old daughter changing on camera.

Hughes, at this time of his arrest, confessed to police of videotaping the family, according to arrest documents. Police say he also admitted that he's videotaped 25 to 30 different women and children at various Boca Raton parks.

On August 12 Hughes was arrested again by Delray Beach police officers after they received a tip that someone at the Atlantic Dunes Park at 1600 South Ocean Boulevard was in the women's restroom taking photos.

Hughes told officers, according to his arrest report, that he was out of jail on video voyeurism charges and he was scheduled to go on trial the next day on his original charges.

Prosecutors have amended the original charges against Hughes to add an additional 11 counts of video voyeurism, including 6 where the victim is under the age of 16.

Hughes is now  being held in the Palm Beach County Jail.
