Boynton Beach man charged Tuesday with DUI manslaughter that killed elderly sisters

A Boynton Beach man was charged Tuesday with two counts of DUI manslaughter in a suburban Delray Beach crash that killed two women last November.

Bradley Broberg, who turns 21 on Thursday, was charged this afternoon in the deaths of Vivian Taylor, 81, of suburban Delray Beach, and Muriel Lowenstien, 84, of Palm Desert, Calif., the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.

According to a sheriff's crash report, Broberg was driving his 1999 Dodge truck around 7:30 p.m. Nov. 20 when he collided with a 2009 Nissan Altima that was being driven by Lowenstein. The accident occurred in the area of Jog Road and North Oriole Boulevard.

Investigators said at the time that Lowenstein was attempting to make a left turn into the Huntington Lakes retirement community when her vehicle was struck by the southbound truck.

Taylor, her sister, was a passenger in the Nissan and was pronounced dead at the scene. Lowenstein was transported to the hospital and later died from critical injuries.
